This Bread is one of the best budget meals you can make at home. Simple, fast, and made with ingredients you already have — ideal for beginners or anyone planning affordable family dinners. Let’s cook smarter, not harder.
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 1 kg (about 8 cups) of cake wheat flour (add more as needed)
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- Salt to taste
For the filling:
- 250g sliced ham
- 250g mozzarella cheese
- Tomato sauce (or pizza sauce)
- Cream cheese or spreadable cheese
- Dried oregano
- How to Make It
Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl, mix together the warm milk, oil, baking powder, salt, and a little of the flour. Gradually add more flour, mixing until the dough is soft and pulls away from your hands. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
Roll and fill:
Divide the dough into two portions. On a clean, dry surface, roll out one half into a rectangle. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce, then add slices of ham, mozzarella, spoonfuls of cream cheese, and a sprinkle of oregano.
Shape:
Fold the sides of the dough inward to seal the edges, then roll it up tightly like a Swiss roll. Repeat with the second half of the dough.
Bake:
Place the rolls on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for around 20 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
Serve warm and enjoy every cheesy bite! Want a variation with shredded chicken or ground beef? Just swap out the filling!
