Ingredients:
- 4 ripe bananas (Cavendish bananas work best for desserts)
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups of milk
For the caramel:
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 1 cup of water
Preparation:
Caramel:
Start by preparing the caramel. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the sugar until it turns golden. Carefully add the water and stir until it forms a smooth syrup.
Pour the caramel into a bundt or pudding mould, tilting the pan to coat the bottom and sides evenly. Set aside.
Dessert:
Mash the bananas well with a fork until smooth. In a bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly, then add the mashed bananas and mix again.
Gradually add the milk, stirring continuously until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated mould. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C in a bain-marie (water bath) for about 1 hour, or until set.
Let the flan cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled. Once cold, unmould and serve.
Your banana flan is ready — soft, naturally sweet, and delicious!
